Supporting War Child
Our partners War Child help children in wartorn countries with safety, food and education.
Sadly, in a conflict zone, these things cannot be taken for granted. The recent situation in Gaza has highlighted the importance of War Child’s mission more than ever. They work tirelessly to give children their childhood back and the tools to build a better future for themselves.
War Child is the only specialist dedicated to the 250 million children around the world currently affected by conflict.
They aim to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out and stay to support them through their recovery.War can be particularly devastating for children. They often find themselves separated from their families and at huge risk of physical harm, violence, abuse or sexual exploitation and can be affected by long term physical and psychological harm that, in some cases, can last a lifetime.
That’s why child protection, education and psycho-social support is at the heart of what War Child believes and does.
Together with the support of their partners, including us, they deliver vital, life-saving work with teams on the ground in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo.
In 2020 War Child continued to grow its reach despite the extremely circumstances of the global pandemic with a continued focused on the quality of our programming.
Despite the new health risk, War Child is as committed as ever to mitigating the impact of war and the epidemic on the children they support with an ambition to support in 2021 over 100,000 children and young adults.
